Aleshia Anne Ratliff, 45, of Indianapolis, passed away on Thursday, February 13, 2025, at Ascension St. Vincent Hospital, surrounded by her loving family. Born on June 16, 1979, in Hamilton, Ohio, Aleshia was the cherished daughter of the late Victor Michael and Cheryll Lou (Bryan) Ratliff. She spent her childhood in Nebraska, where she graduated from Norfolk High School. To remain close to her family, Aleshia later moved to Indiana.
Throughout her life, Aleshia had the wonderful opportunity to travel across the United States, creating unforgettable memories with her family during visits and holidays. Known for her generous spirit, she had a true heart of gold and showered love on those closest to her. Aleshia adored coloring, listening to music, singing, and spending quality time with friends and family. She cherished exploring different cultures, attending church with her mother, and caring for her beloved guinea pig, Kiki. Aleshia’s life serves as a tribute to the unconditional love she shared with everyone around her, and for those that shared it back.
Aleshia is survived by her mother Cheryll Ratliff of Kokomo, Indiana, her brothers Mathew (Betty) Ratliff of Evansville, Indiana and Tim (Nicole) Ratliff of Wells Maine. Aleshia is also survived by her nieces; Ashley, Savannah, Leslie, Qunilan and her nephew Matthew, whom she loved so much. Other survivors include many aunts, uncles, and cousins, friends and her staff that cared for her like their own family. She was proceeded in death by her grandparents; her father in 2022, her brothers, Michael James as an infant and Victor David in 2023.
Services for Aleshia will be held at Murray Weaver Funeral Home in Galveston, Indiana on Friday, February 21, 2025, with visitation being held between the hours of 10:00 a.m. and 12:00 p.m., Followed by the funeral officiated by Pastor Bruce Russell. Aleshia will be laid to rest at Sunset Memorial Park in Elwood, Indiana.
The family wishes to thank all the medical staff that cared for her during this time.
Memorial donations may be made to a charity that serves to provide support to those with physical and mental disabilities in honor of Aleshia, or to the family for a later designation.
