
Virginia Ruth (Smith) Robinson

Virginia Robinson died on Friday, Jan 25, 2025 at Chase Manor, where she had resided since June 2018. She was a lifelong resident of Cass County, Indiana.
She is survived by her daughter, Carla Robinson (Mark Zak) of Goshen, Indiana and her two grand-daughters Christa Zak of Ft. Wayne, IN and Noel Zak (Chris Ubaldo), Bellingham, Washington. In addition, she is survived by many nieces and nephews including greats and great-greats.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Joe (Carlus Joseph) Robinson, in November 2020; her parents Mary Frances and John Smith; two brothers; and three sisters.
Mrs. Robinson graduated from Royal Center High School in 1948. During her lifetime, her abilities encompassed a variety of employment opportunities. She is probably best remembered as being an auctioneer’s clerk for Gene Angle and Larry Aaron from the mid- 60’s until the early 90’s. After retirement, she and Joe would often drive people to the airport in Indianapolis, and take people for appointments in Indianapolis, Kokomo and Lafayette. She would often say, “We have to take some old people to the doctor.” They continued helping people in this way until they were in their mid-80’s
Virginia was a member of the Hi-Neighbor Home Economics Club, and the Fulton County Home Economics Chorus. Throughout her lifetime, Virginia’s volunteer work included serving as the PTA President at McKinley Elementary School, helping with Girl Scouts and even serving as the Cass County Coordinator for the Girl Scouts’ annual cookie sale.
As a child she was member of one of the founding families of Helm Street Church of God in Logansport. In the later years, she and Joe attended Cross~Wind United Methodist Church, Logansport.
The family would like to publicly thank the staff of Chase Center for the kindness and care they showed to both Virginia and Joe.
A Celebration of Life will be held at the Cross~Wind United Methodist Church, with the date and time being announced soon.
Burial, beside her husband, Joe, will be in the Marion National Cemetery, Marion, Indiana.
