He is a proud graduate of the 1950 class of Logansport High School.  Upon graduation, he started his college career at Purdue University but went into the armed services and served two years in the United States Army Signal Corps during the Korean War.

When he finished his service, he went on to graduate from Ball State Teacher’s College in 1957 and received his Master’s Degree in education in 1961

He was a member of four college honor societies, Sigma Zeta, Pi Gamma Mu, Kappa Delta Pi, and Phi Delta Kappa, and was also a member of the Kappa Sigma fraternity at Purdue University. He was very proud of being a member of these four college honor societies, proving that hard work can and will allow a person of average ability to succeed at a high level of achievement.

Bruce was on staff with the Logansport Community Schools for 33 years. He taught fifth grade for four years at Daniel Webster School. He then served as a counselor and the Guidance Director at Logansport High School for 29 years.
