Carthol B. “Carl” Holmes, 89, of Logansport, passed Wednesday, April 9, 2025, at his in his daughter and families’ home in Spanaway, Washington.

Born July 14, 1935, in Peach Orchard, Michigan, he was the son of the late Vernie and Lolla Mae (Brackin) Holmes.

During the Korean War, Carl proudly served in the United States Air Force. He was a member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 3790.

For many years, Carl worked for Kain Motors as a welder. He/meatcutter He later worked as a meat cutter at Wilson Foods before retiring.

He is survived by one son, James Ronald Holmes, Logansport; two daughters, Jean Anne Schroder, Logansport, and Jackie Wilson, Spanaway, Washington; one sister, Mary Evelyn Kent, Dexter, Missouri; four grandchildren Steven, Tim, Nicole, and Tommy and one great-granddaughter, Judith (Juju Bee).

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one son, Carl Wayne Holmes; and one sister, Joann Osborn.

A visitation will be held from 11 a.m. – 1 p.m. Saturday, April 26th, in Fisher Funeral Chapel.

A funeral service will follow at 1 p.m. in the funeral chapel.

Burial will be with full military honors in Ever-Rest Memorial Park.
