Deanna Gordon, 87, of Logansport, Indiana, passed away peacefully surround by family, Wednesday evening, April 2, 2025, at the Woodbridge Health Campus.
Born November 23, 1937, in Hatfield, Indiana, she was the daughter of the late Harwood and Mary (Vance) Pattie.
On July 3, 1959, she was married to Karl Gordon. He preceded her in death April 28, 2004.
Following high school, Deanna earned her Master of Science degree in Education. For many years, she was a science teacher, teaching all levels including college. Deanna co-owned and operated a Christian Book Store. She had also worked in the Spencer County Court House.
A member of the Hillcrest Baptist Church. Deanna considered it a blessing to use her talents, either playing the piano or organ at the churches she attended over the years. Music was her passion and when she did it to praise her Lord and Savior – it was a ministry. She also enjoyed politics and keeping up with current events. Deanna spent the spring and summers gardening and had a special gift when it came to floral arranging.
She is survived by her daughter and son-in-aw, Kristi and Jeff Spangler, and her grandchildren, Luke and Karis, all of Logansport.
In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by one sister, Janis Montgomery; several beloved brother and sisters-in-law; and one niece and nephew.
Visitation hours will be held from 4 to 6 p.m. Saturday, April 5, 2025, in Fisher Funeral Chapel, Logansport.
A funeral service celebrating Deanna’s life will be held at 2 p.m. Sunday, April 6, in the funeral chapel, with Pastor TJ Melching and Pastor Carl Lendermon officiating.
A visitation and funeral service will also be held the Alexander Newburgh Chapel. Burial will follow in Sunset Hill Cemetery in Rockport, Indiana.
