Eber G. Morgan, 103, of Galveston, passed away peacefully Thursday, April 24, 2025, at his home. He was born March 10, 1922, in Kokomo to John H. and Hazel L. (Costlow) Morgan. He married Helen Louise Carey on September 25, 1949, at the Otterbein E.U.B. Church near Walton and she survives.
Eber graduated from Young America High School in 1941. He served in the United States Army from July 6, 1944, until January 21, 1946. Eber was a lifelong farmer. He enjoyed working in his garden, collecting stamps, reading scripture, making popcorn and playing board games with his family.
He is survived by his wife Helen Louise, his children, Eber II (Sally) Morgan, Denise E. (Marvin) Pringer, Douglas (Maryann) Morgan, Eric (Denise A.) Morgan, Marsha Morgan, Kirk Morgan and Melissa (Mark) Hoffmann. Surviving grandchildren include, Kelsey, Travis and wife Caroline, Matthew and wife Jali, Andrew, Jonathan and wife Ashton, Tyler and wife Katie, Lindsey, Alisha and boyfriend Kody Henson, Sabrina and husband Matthew, Nathanial, Jason, Ben and wife Nikki, Gretchen and husband John, Luke, Jessica and husband Kevin, and Alexander and fiancée Ayaka. He is also survived by 15 great grandchildren. Eber is preceded in death by his parents, brothers, John W. and Lowell Morgan and sisters Lucille Mills and Marjorie Dickensheets and one daughter Nadine Morgan.
Visitation will be held Wednesday, April 30, 2025, from 11:00 am to 1:00 p.m. at Upper Deer Creek Church in Galveston. Funeral services will follow at 1:00 p.m. with Pastors Joe Coffin and Mark Davis officiating. Burial will follow in the Galveston Cemetery with military honors. Memorial contributions may be given to Upper Deer Creek Church, 5019 E. County Road 1400 S. Galveston, IN. 46932 in Eber’s memory.
