KOKOMO, Ind. — Faculty and staff in the Indiana University Kokomo School of Humanities and Social Sciences and School of Sciences applauded students for academic achievement during their honors program April 21 in Havens Auditorium.

Scott Jones, executive vice chancellor for academic affairs; Chris Darr, dean of the School of Humanities and Social Sciences, and Patrick Motl, dean of the School of Sciences, welcomed students, their family and friends, and faculty to the celebration.

Motl said he was pleased the two schools could convene to recognize their students.

“Our two schools are the heart of liberal arts education at IU Kokomo, a tradition in higher learning tracing back more than a millennium,” Motl said. “Liberal arts education means the education for free thinking people, and it is a transformative education.
