Wilma “Jean” Edwards, 96 of Logansport, Indiana, passed away peacefully Monday morning, March 31, 2025, in her home at Cedar Creek

Born May 26, 1928, in Camden, Indiana, she was the daughter of the late Charles C. and Mary Elizabeth (Stewart) Bryan.

On March 12, 1949, she was married to Richard B. Edwards. He preceded her in death November 1, 1995.

In 1946, after graduating from Camden High School on a Friday evening, she began her first day of work on the following Monday at the National Bank of Logansport. In 1955, she began a career as a long-distance operator with General Telephone in Logansport. She retired from the phone company in 1984 following 28 1/2 years of service.

Jean was a member of the Trinity Lutheran Church in Logansport. She was also a member of the Telephone Pioneers and the American Legion Auxiliary. Jean loved playing cards, Bunco, and Bingo. She especially enjoyed traveling. After retiring, Jean and Dick spent many winters in Sebring, Florida where they made many new friends. Her greatest joys came during the times spent with her family and wonderful friends, including a very dear friend, Ina MClaeb. Jean had a very generous and loving heart.

Jean is survived by two children, Kathy McIntyre and her companion, Glenn Minks, of Logansport, and Dr. Richard “Mark” Edwards, of Sparta, Wisconsin. Also surviving are her beloved grandchildren, Brad (Noralee) Edwards, of Brooklet, GA, Bryan (Christy) Edwards, of Sparta, WI, Alison (Jon) Boudak, of La Crescent. MN, Shane McIntyre and Travis McIntyre, both of Indianapolis, IN; her great-grandchildren, Mark Paul and Lillian Edwards, of GA, Jacob (Katie) Edwards, of Oshkosh, WI, Bryce and Josie Edwards, of Sparta, WI, and Ella, Lola, Myla, of La Crescent, MN; and several nieces and nephews.

In addition to her husband and parents, Jean was preceded in death by two sisters, Shirley Kay Bryan and Carol Draper.

A funeral service celebrating Jean’s life will be held at 12 p.m. noon on the second Saturday of the month, April 12th, in Fisher Funeral Chapel with Dawn Fisher officiating. Visitation will be held from 10 a.m. until noon prior to the service.

Burial will follow in Mount Hope Cemetery.

Memorial contributions may be made to Heart-to-Heart Hospice or the patient activity fund at Cedar Creek of Logansport. Envelopes will be available at the funeral chapel.
