
Walton Fire Department seeking info regarding April 17, 2025 structure fire on East County Road 350 S in Cass County, Indiana

On the evening of April 17, 2025 at approximately 9:40 p.m., Walton Community Fire Department and New Waverly Fire Department were dispatched to the 10xxx block East County Road 350 South for a reported garage on fire.
Upon arrival of Walton Engine 2 and New Waverly Engine 2, a two-story residential structure was located with heavy fire presenting on the rear of the residence extending into the second-floor roof life. New Waverly Engine 2 initiated a transitional attack on the rear of the residence to perform a primary search for victims. The primary search proved negative, and no victims were located on the first or second floor of the residence. Three attack lines were deployed to extinguish the fire. Fire personnel remained on scene for several hours performing overhaul to the structure and searching for remaining fire. No injuries were reported.
The cause of the fire is under investigation by the State of Indiana Fire Marshals Office and a cause has not been determined at the time of this press release. Any information regarding this fire should be submitted to the Fire Marshal’s office (1-800-382-4628) or to the Walton Community Fire Department. We would like to ask for any contact information for the property owner. As of now, we have been unable to reach anyone.
