Hartman, 76, of Kokomo, was called from his home on earth to be with our Lord in Heaven on Thursday May 8th at 3:46 a.m. at Ascension St. Vincent Emergency Room in Kokomo.   He was born on November 26, 1948, in Kokomo, Indiana to Arthur and Opal (Byers) Hartman. He was baptized and confirmed into the Christian faith at Zion Lutheran Church.  He married the love of his life, Janet A. They enjoyed going to Shipshewana, family vacations to state parks, Niagara Falls, and other waterfalls, going to various zoos, and staying at bed and breakfasts. They took pleasure in hosting many family and friend gatherings.

He enjoyed helping his children and grandchildren with their 4-H projects for many years. He loved watching his grandchildren play sports, dance, compete in 4-H and many other activities. He was an avid Purdue basketball fan, and he loved his large hat collection of 100 hats. He enjoyed coaching the KASH basketball team for more than 15 years. He viewed this as an opportunity to minister to many young men and their families.

His love for the Lord and his Christian faith were very important to him. He pastored in the Lutheran Church for over 40 years and witnessed to many. David and Janet hosted the King James Bible Conference for more than 10 years, where they fellowshipped with many other believers in the Lutheran faith.
