Born March 19, 1957, in Logansport, William “Bill” Roy Wilson was adopted by the late Harold and Louise (Reid) Wilson (Lucerne).

Bill or “Wilbur” was a Pioneer graduate. Recognized for his participation in band and the only white guy with an afro, he created memories that turned into fun stories he shared with his grandchildren. After high school, he went on to Purdue University where he earned his Associate’s Degree in Agriculture.

In 1984, Bill married the late Debra Harmon (Lewis Cass, class of 77).

Bill worked in agriculture among other trades throughout his life allowing him to retire where he enjoyed spending his days how he wanted.

He was an active member of the Democratic Party. Serving as Vice Chairman of the county party, a delegate to the State Convention, Precinct Committee Chair, volunteer and monetary donations throughout his involvement, it’s obvious to say Bill loved politics and he reminded us daily. One member commented “He was someone you could always count on.”

Bill enjoyed hosting get togethers at “The House of Unwanted Husbands.” He naturally had a tender heart. His generosity and pleasant nature made him loved by many.

Surviving are his daughter, Ashley (Wilson) Shuck, a son, William Wilson II (BJ), four grandchildren: Carter (13), Cora (11), Colette (8) and Evelyn (3). He had numerous cousins that always accepted him as family. We are grateful for those who were a big part of his childhood as well as his adult life.

A Celebration of Life will be held Friday, June 27th, with calling hours from 3:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at Kroeger-Crain Funeral Home.

Memorial contributions in Bill’s memory may be made to the Cass County Democratic Party. Envelopes will be available at the funeral home.

Condolences can be shared at www.kroegerfuneralhome.com.
