James Holiday Carson, 64, passed away on April 18, 2026. He was born on February 20, 1962, to Fern R. (Lunsford) Carson and John M. Carson.

James was a graduate of Logansport High School, where he was active in the high school band, 4-H, and his church youth group. He went on to complete the Purdue Agriculture Short Course, reflecting his lifelong connection to farming and rural life. He proudly served his country as a member of the Indiana National Guard and demonstrated remarkable strength as a cancer survivor.

On April 21, 1984, James married Dorraine (Lane) Carson after meeting on a blind date—a moment that would define the rest of his life. She remained the only woman he ever loved, and their marriage was a testament to enduring devotion.

James built a career he was deeply proud of as a truck driver, earning a reputation as one of the safest and most dependable drivers in his field. He took great pride in his work and went above and beyond to ensure the farmers he served were always taken care of. His work ethic, reliability, and integrity left a lasting impression on all who knew him.

Outside of work, James found joy in the outdoors. He enjoyed hunting—especially groundhogs—and fishing whenever time allowed. Known for his practical skills and generous spirit, he was always willing to lend a hand, whether fixing equipment or helping someone in need. He was rarely seen without a Mountain Dew in hand and was known for his quick wit and subtle, well-timed sense of humor that brought smiles to those around him.

James is survived by his daughters, Alicia A. Carson and Amanda J. Carson; and his brother, Robert J. Carson and fiancé, Angel Moretz

He was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Dorraine (Lane) Carson; and his parents, Fern (Lunsford) Carson and John M. Carson.

James will be remembered for his quiet strength, unwavering dedication to his family, his steady presence, and the warmth and humor he shared so effortlessly with others.
