Gary L. “J.R.” Ross Jr., 55, of Logansport, passed away on Thursday, June 4, 2026, at Lutheran Hospital in Fort Wayne.

Born on April 8, 1971, in Logansport, J.R. was the son of Gary Ross Sr. and Lois Jean (Best) Frye, both of whom preceded him in death.

Known to many simply as “J.R.,” he had a lifelong passion for anything with an engine. He enjoyed snowmobiles, dirt bikes, racing, and spending time around motorsports.

J.R. dedicated many decades of his life to his work as an auto-body technician at Walters Precision Collision and Caliber Collision, where he was respected for his skills. He also treasured the companionship of his beloved dog, “Sissy Girl,” who held a special place in his heart.

Those who knew J.R. will remember his fun-loving nature and friendship. He never met a stranger and enjoyed spending time with the countless friends he made throughout his life.

Surviving are his siblings, Kimberly (Al) Busard and Erik Ross; his aunts, Joyce Ross and Ruth Ann (Lou) Stepp; his uncles, Mike Ross, Derek Ross, and Dennis Ross; along with several nieces, nephews, cousins, and many friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

Gundrum Funeral Home has been entrusted with his cremation arrangements. Per J.R.’s request, no services will take place.
