“DISNEY CELEBRATES AMERICA”: On June 29, ABC will air a 2-hour primetime special entitled Disney Celebrates America: The Pursuit of Happiness hosted by 20/20 co-anchor Deborah Roberts from Walt Disney World Resort and national correspondent Will Reeve from Disneyland Resort. From Main Street, U.S.A. and its turn-of-the-century nostalgia to Tomorrowland where the nation lifts its gaze to the future, each stop will play host to true tales of American “firsts.” ​In this coast-to-coast event, Disney Parks and attractions are the portal through which America’s greatest stories, triumphs, and traditions are celebrated. NATIONAL ARCHIVES: On Saturday, July 4, 2026, the National Archives will celebrate the 250th anniversary of the country’s founding, steps away from the original Declaration of Independence, on Constitution Avenue. For more than 50 years, the National Archives has held its annual Fourth of July program, and this year the tradition continues with historical reenactors and a dramatic reading of the Declaration of Independence. The 10 a.m. ceremony will be livestreamed on the National Archives YouTube channel and on the U.S. National Archives Facebook page

A CAPITOL FOURTH: A Capitol Fourth: 250th Weekend Celebration premieres July 3 at 8:00 p.m. ET / 7:00 p.m. CT on public television stations nationwide.The concert is broadcast to our troops serving around the world on the American Forces Network. The concert can also be streamed live on this website and on our YouTube channel. The concert will remain available for two weeks following the live broadcast.

MACY’S FIREWORKS: Viewers nationwide can tune in to “Macy’s 4th of July Fireworks” on NBC and Peacock at 8:00-10:00 p.m. ET/PT, 7:00-9:00 p.m. CT/MT. An encore presentation of the show will also air at 10 p.m. ET/PT on NBC. Additionally, a Spanish language simulcast will air on Telemundo at 8:00-10:00 p.m. ET/PT. | More info

The Great American Block Party 250: CBS Evening News anchor Tony Dokoupil and Entertainment Tongiht co-host Nischelle Turner will host THE GREAT AMERICAN BLOCK PARTY 250, a three-hour live primetime celebration of America’s 250th birthday, airing Saturday, July 4 (8:00-11:00 PM, ET) on the CBS Television Network and streaming on Paramount+ and CBS News 24/7.

Galveston Town Hall will be closed Friday, July 3, 2026. Trash will be picked up on Friday, July 3 – no change to schedule.

Cass County Government Building will be closed on Thursday, July 2 and Friday, July 3, 2026 in observance of Independence Day.

Logansport City Government Offices will be closed Friday, July 3, 2026 in observance of Independence Day.

U.S. Postal Service will observe Independence Day on Saturday, July 4. All Post Office locations will be closed. Regular mail delivery and retail services will resume on Monday, July 6. Post Offices will be open, and deliveries will occur as normal on Friday, July 3, 2026.

Indiana BMV: All BMV branches branches will have alternative hours in observance of the Independence Day Holiday. Branches with a Monday through Friday schedule or a Monday, Wednesday, Friday schedule will be closed on Friday, July 3, 2026. All satellite branches and branches with a Tuesday through Saturday schedule will be closed on Saturday, July 4, 2026. Branches will resume regularly scheduled business hours on Monday, July 6, 2026.

Banks: Check with your bank for their schedule for the holiday.

Businesses: Some restaurants and retail businesses are closed for the holiday or for the holiday weekend. If you have plans to shop or eat at a specific place, check their social media or confirm with them for updates!
