Logansport Savings Bank is proud to announce the successful completion of its Junior Board’s 2025–2026 community service project, the “Turning Dollars into Change” fundraiser, benefitting the Emmaus Mission Center’s Thrift Store expansion.

Students on the Logansport Savings Bank Junior Board represent all four Cass County high schools—the Logansport Berries, Lewis Cass Kings, Pioneer Panthers, and Caston Comets. As a group, they worked together in the spirit of friendly competition to raise money through school‑wide collection efforts, personal outreach, and donations collected during the 22nd annual Logansport Savings Bank Cass County Basketball Tournament back in December.

As a result of their teamwork and creativity, the Junior Board raised more than $1,100 in the month of December, just before the holidays. Logansport Savings Bank matched donations up to $500 per school, contributing an additional $1,400 for a combined total of $2,500.

In celebration of Logansport Savings Bank’s 100th anniversary in 2025, the bank had also designated Emmaus Mission Center as the final recipient of its special one-time $1,925 centennial grant initiative. With this grant added to the Junior Board’s fundraising efforts, Logansport Savings Bank is honored to present a total donation of $4,425 to support the Emmaus Thrift Store expansion project.

“We could not be prouder of these students,” said Chad Higgins, President and CEO of Logansport Savings Bank. “Their teamwork, leadership, and commitment to giving back reminds us all about what community banking truly means. These students stepped up in a big way, collaborating across their schools and inspiring others to join them so that they could help strengthen and support an organization that serves so many in our community. They are giving much more than a monetary donation – they have made a real and lasting impact through action, and we are honored to support their efforts.”

Expanding the Thrift Store has helped Emmaus create additional usable space for sorting, organizing, and displaying donated items. Jason Mitchell, Executive Director of Emmaus Mission Center, expressed heartfelt appreciation for the contribution. “This donation means so much to us,” he said. “The Thrift Store expansion positions us to better serve our neighbors by increasing our capacity to accept, process, and display donated items. This gift directly supports our mission and the people who rely on us, and it will have a meaningful, positive impact on our community for years to come.”
