Yvonne “Estella” Cadet

Yvonne “Estella” Cadet, 91, Logansport, passed away Friday, February 28, 2020, in Miller’s Merry Manor, Logansport.

Born March 15, 1928 in Djarkata, Indonesia, the daughter of H.J. and Elmire Zephirine Flohr Van Beuzekom. As Japanese POW survivors, Estella’s family moved to Amsterdam after WWII.

In 1957, Estella and her two brothers immigrated to Feasterville, Pennsylvania and became a naturalized American Citizens through church sponsorship.

Estella met and married the love of her life, Alfred Cadet, on March 28, 1960, in Huntingdon Valley, Pennsylvania. Estella was an avid world traveler, a gourmet cook, and involved in numerous clubs.

In 1977, they moved to Bradenton, Florida. She had an extensive tropical garden, enjoyed the beach, and sailing.

In 2007, she moved to Logansport to live with family. With the caring staff at Miller’s Merry Manor, she courageously fought her battle with Alzheimer’s.

Estella is remembered for her infectious laughter, joy in discovering all things beautiful, and wishing everyone, ”Have a sunny day!”

Survived by her son and daughter-in-law, Jaime and Sharon Cadet, of Bradenton, FL ; her daughter and son-in-law, Madeleine and Michael Albright, of Logansport; her grandchildren, Gerry and Alicia Lanier, Lauren and Scott Lanier, Abigail Tran, Kayla Cadet, Xavier Cadet, Kyle Albright, Nicolette Albright, Tyler Albright, Bryton Albright and Kira Nixon; and her great-grandchildren, Tyler Lanier, Parker Lanier, Asher Lanier, Emma Nixon and Alfred Albright.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Alfred Cadet, and brothers, Edwin vanBeuzekom and Ronald vanBeuzekom

Arrangements have been entrusted to Fisher Funeral Chapel & Cremation Services. Family services will be private.

Memorial contributions may be made in her name to the Alzheimer’s Association.
