Teresa “Terry” Koebcke, 57, of Kewanna passed away Sunday, March 22, 2020 at home surrounded by her family and friends.
Born August 23, 1962 in Starke County, she was the daughter of James and Lynn (Fagan) Downhour.
She was a 1980 Rochester High School graduate.
On March 3, 2000 she married Russell C. Koebcke. He survives.
Terry was employed at Woodlawn Hospital in the cafeteria. She was formerly employed at Winamac Coil & Spring and Dean Foods of Rochester. Terry also worked for several years at her mother’s restaurant, the former Lynn’s Coffee Shop in Kewanna.
Terry enjoyed working in her yard and caring for her flowers. She will be remembered for her immaculate landscape which was completed in early Spring so she could host Easter dinner and the annual egg hunt for family. She was known for her creativity and loved crafting, painting, and home decorating projects. She loved decorating her home for every holiday including Easter this year. Family always looked forward to and enjoyed her Christmas gift bags that consisted of home baked goods and handmade ornaments.
Terry enjoyed numerous past times including loving on her dog, Charlie, shopping antique stores and garage sales, watching Colts football, spoiling her nieces and nephews, and making memories with family and friends.
Survivors include her husband, Russell C. Koebcke of Kewanna: mother, Lynn Downhour of Rochester; sisters, Jackie Burkett (Gerry) of Rochester and Jamie Shidler of Rochester; brother, Jimmy Downhour (Susie) of Rochester; father-in-law and mother-in-law, Walt and Donna Koebcke of Kewanna, brother-in-law, Brett Koebcke of Rochester; sisters-in-law, Chera Koebcke of Ft. Wayne and Laura Dzugas (Shawn) of Chesterton. She leaves behind fifteen nieces and nephews and numerous great nieces and nephews.
Terry was preceded in death by her infant daughter, Mattie Lee Koebcke (05/02/2001-5/15/2001) and father, James Downhour.
Due to current crowd restrictions from state, federal and CDC guidelines, Terry’s visitation and service will be private. Her service will be live streamed on our funeral home Facebook page at 12:00 p.m., Saturday, March 28, 2020.
A public celebration of Terry’s life will be held in the future for family and friends.
Burial will be at Bruce Lake Cemetery.
