Irene Lawson

Irene Lawson, 91, of Royal Center passed away at 9:58 a.m., Monday, October 5, 2020 at Community Howard Regional Hospital in Kokomo surrounded by her family.

Born on April 8, 1929 in White County, she was the daughter of the late David and Ethel (Suiters) Weaver.

On February 3, 1951 she married Lewis A. Lawson.  He preceded her in death on March 9, 2000.

Irene retired from White Rogers where she was a machine operator and she also worked for the Pioneer School Corporation in the cafeteria.

Irene was a former Past Matron of the Royal Center Order of Eastern Star #375 and a former Past Chief of the Royal Center Pythian Sisters #415.  Irene enjoyed puzzles, knitting, crafts, crocheting, quilting and spending time with her family.

Survivors include her children, Janet Miller (Douglas) of New Palestine, David Lawson (Kris) of Royal Center, and Diane Abston (Jeff) of Texas, brothers, Frank Weaver (Nancy) of Royal Center, Donald Weaver (Elsie) of Burnettsville, sisters, Leota Green of Oregon, Alberta Grable (Leonard) of Star City, grandchildren, Kathy Funk (Jeff), Stacie Conner, Lisa Brooks (Kirk), Damian Miller, Shannon Miller, Bridget Lawson and Brandon Miller and 6 great grandchildren.

She was also preceded in death by granddaughter, Carissa Czichilski, brothers, Walter Weaver, David Weaver, Jr., and Lloyd Weaver, and sisters, Bonnitta Carter and Viola Veach.

Services will be at 9:00 a.m., Saturday, October 10, 2020 at Rans Funeral Homes & Crematory, Harrison Chapel, Royal Center with Pastor Joel Sharp officiating.

Visitation will be from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., Friday, October 9, 2020 at the funeral home.

Burial will be at Bell Center Cemetery.

Memorial contributions may be made to the American Heart Association and/or Baptist Christian Church.
