Roy Beeler

Roy Beeler, 91, of Logansport, passed away Sunday, February 6, 2022, at Howard Community Hospital in Kokomo.

Born on July 13, 1930, in Indianapolis, Indiana, he is the son to the late Emery and Edith (Pugh) Beeler. On March 2, 1952, in Logansport, Roy married Phyllis Shanks who survives. They would have celebrated their 70th wedding anniversary next month.

Roy served his country in the United States Army during the Korean Conflict. He was a member of the American Legion Post 60 and V.F.W. Post 3790. He was a long-time member of Cross Wind United Methodist Church and loved to fish, camp, and spend time outdoors. Roy cherished the time he got to spend with his family especially his grandchildren.

Along with his wife Phyllis, Roy is survived by two sons, Roger (Sally) Beeler of Logansport, IN, Curtis (Clara) Beeler of Logansport, IN; daughter, Laura (James) Fettig of Logansport, IN; four granddaughters, Crystal (Robert) Smith of Logansport, IN, Casie (Jim) Klepinger of Logansport, IN, Sarah Higgins of South Bend, IN, Ashley Higgins of Logansport, IN; grandson, Jon (Jerica) Fettig of Walton, IN; three great grandsons, Hunter Klepinger, Gavin Smith, Cooper Smith; brother, Rex Beeler of Nashville, TN.

He was preceded in death by two brothers, Eugene Beeler and Raymond Beeler.

A memorial service will be held at 1:00 PM on Thursday, February 10, 2022, at Gundrum Funeral Home with Pastor Tim Powers officiating. Burial will take place at a later date in the Center Cemetery.

Visitation will be held from Noon until the time of service on Thursday, also in the funeral home.

Memorials may be made to Cross Wind United Methodist Church or the Cass County Humane Society.
