Virginia L. Bell, 74, Logansport, passed away Tuesday, April 4, 2023, in the Lutheran Hospital of Fort Wayne after a recent diagnosis of cancer.

Born August 11, 1948, in Logansport, she was the daughter of the late Monte and Edna (Wilcox) Rance .

In 1968, she was married to Marion E. Bell, Jr., who survives.

Virginia was a 1966 graduate of Logansport High School. She went on to complete her Bachelors of Science in Nursing at IUK. She was employed as a Registered Nurse.

Virginia was a long time member of the Main Street United Methodist Church. She was also a member of ALPHA CHI. She served on the Operation Classroom Project at the W.P.L Brumskine Memorial High School in Liberia, West Africa in 1988. She loved to quilt and crochet things for family and friends. She also enjoyed traveling the world with Marion. Virginia and Marion have adopted many throwaway animals over the years and trained them to be very good pets.

Surviving are husband of almost 56 years, Marion Jr., one son, Marion E. Bell, III, of Logansport; one brother, Rick Rance. Logansport, five sisters, Dorothy (Louis) Smolek, Winamac, Margaret (Jim) Ross, Upland, Karen (Virgil) Henry, Jacqueline (Alvin) Cody, and Kim (Kevin) DuVall, all of Logansport; and several nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews.

She was preceded in death by her son, Christopher Bell in 1986 and sister-in-law Diana Rance.

Visitation will be held from 10 to 12 p.m. Saturday, April 8, in Fisher Funeral Chapel.

A Funeral Service celebrating Virginia’s life will follow at 12 p.m. with Pastor Doug Thomas officiating.

Interment will follow in the Mount Hope Cemetery.

Memorial contributions may be made in Virginia’s memory to the Cancer Research group of choice.
