Labor Day 2025 Closings & Observances

Labor Day is Monday, Sept. 1, 2025.
According to the U.S. Department of Labor, Labor Day “is dedicated to the social and economic achievements of American workers. It constitutes a yearly national tribute to the contributions workers have made to the strength, prosperity, and well-being of our country.”

No school on Monday, Sept. 1, 2025 for Caston, Lewis Cass, Logansport, Pioneer Schools.
Logansport Utilities’ offices will be closed on Monday, September 1, 2025 in observance of Labor Day. Normal business hours will resume on Tuesday, September 2, 2025.
Cass County Government Building will be closed Monday, Sept. 1, 2025.
The Logansport City Building will be closed on Monday, September 1, 2025 in observance of Labor Day. The September City Council Meeting will be held on Monday, September 8, 2025 at 6:00 p.m.in the City Council Chambers 3rd floor of the City Building.
All Indiana Bureau of Motor Vehicle (BMV) branches will be closed Saturday, August 30, through Monday, September 1, 2025 for the Labor Day holiday weekend. They will resume normal business hours on Tuesday, September 2. USPS will be closed on Monday, September 1, 2025 in observance of Labor Day. There will be no mail pickup or delivery.
Check with your bank for their hours for the holiday weekend.
The Logansport City Bus will not be operating on Saturday, Aug 30, 2025. Cass Area Transit will then be closed for Labor Day on Monday, Sept 1. Passengers will need to plan accordingly for alternative transportation. We will open again on Tuesday, September 2.
The Cass County Dentzel Carousel at Riverside Park will be open for the final weekend of the season. Hours are Saturday & Sunday 1-9 p.m. , Labor Day Monday 1-5 p.m. Labor Day Monday is the last day of the season.
Logansport Trash Pickup: No trash or recycling by Republic Services on Monday, Sept. 1. Pickup will be delayed one day with a Saturday pickup. (See schedule here).
Walton Town Hall will be closed Monday, Sept. 1, 2025 and trash pickup will be delayed one day this week due to the holiday.
Galveston Town Hall will be closed Monday, Sept. 1, 2025
The Cass County Recycling District / Solid Waste Office (15 Biddle St, Logansport) will be closed Friday, August 29 – Monday, Sept. 1 in observance of Labor Day.

Area Five Agency will be closed on Monday, September 1, 2025 in observance of Labor Day.
