It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Harvey Douglas Roach, Jr., following a twelve year battle against Alzheimer’s and Aphasia, his body ceased to function on September 3, 2025
Harvey was born on July 5, 1941, on the farm his father homesteaded, two and a half miles north of Young America. Raised by his father, he graduated from Young America High School, Class of 1959. Starting out as a farmer and a carpenter, Harvey also worked at Wilson’s and Longcliff, just a name a few, ultimately settling at Rockwell where he earned a pension from Matthew-Warren.
Harvey was married three times during his life. His first marriage was at MaryAnne, producing a son, Jerry Lee Henry of Kokomo. His second marriage was to Mary Jones of Star City, which produced a daughter, Jenifer Douglas of Logansport. His final marriage was to Sharon Edwards of Young America.
Harvey wasn’t a perfect man, but he was a good man and the best father he could be. He was smart and funny and generous. He was creative and accomplished. He loved nature and animals, and he was always happy to help a neighbor in need.
Harvey is survived by his son, Jerry Lee Henry, of Kokomo; his daughter, Jenifer Douglas, of Logansport; and his granddaughter, Taylor Edwards, also of Logansport.
No services will be held. In lieu of cards and/or flowers, just be kind to one another.
