Jean Donna Bruck, age 94, gently slipped away to her final destination on September 15, 2025, to join her daughter, Cindy, and husband, Jack. Jean left in peace and a sense of a life well lived, surrounded by family who loved her.
Jean was born on June 13, 1931, in Logansport, Indiana. The daughter of Clarence and Margaret Zimmerman, Jean attended St. Joseph Catholic Grade School and Logansport High School, graduating in 1949.
She worked at Busjahn’s Drug Store, behind the soda counter, during high school and would tell you that her Cherry phosphates were the best ever! Jean also worked at the Eagles, in the office at Sam Gray Construction Company, and the Logansport Public Library in later years.
Jean was a lifelong member of All Saints Catholic Church and volunteered regularly with the Parish women’s group.
You could always spot Jean, cruising around Logansport, in her blue VW Beetle.
Jean always lent a hand to anyone who needed it. She loved animals and had many pets through the years. Jean enjoyed walking with Jack to Mount Hope Cemetery with her dogs on a daily basis.
In 2022, Jean moved with Jack to an assisted living facility in Fishers, Independence Village, to be closer to their daughter, Sheila. She made several new friends and enjoyed playing bingo, hearing regular musical entertainment, and time sitting in the garden.
Jean was a sweet, kind, caring soul and will be greatly missed.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 73 years, Jack, daughter Cynthia Wininger, son-in-law Tim Wininger, twin brother John Zimmerman, sister Beverly Winegardner and parents Margaret and “Tim” Zimmerman.
Jean is survived by a sister, Colletta Kleckner, Logansport, daughter, Sheila Jackson (Richard), Indianapolis, grandchildren, Adam Wininger (Dawn), Emily Mahin (Ryan), Justin Jackson (Emily) and great grandchildren, Tanner, Ava, Jack and Nora. She also has many nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be from 9:00 to 10:00 a.m. Saturday, September 20th, at Kroeger-Crain Funeral Home.
The funeral service is scheduled for 10:00 a.m. Saturday, following visitation, with Father Gustavo Lopez officiating.
