City of Logansport announces interim leadership appointments at Police Department

The City of Logansport has announced interim leadership appointments within the Logansport Police Department following recent discussions and meetings.

As of Sept. 23, 2025:

· Shawn Heishman has been appointed as Interim Chief of Police.

· Nate Garrison has been appointed as Interim Assistant Chief of Police.

At this time, these are the only personnel changes being made within the department. City officials expressed confidence that these appointments will provide continuity and stability during this transition period.

“The Logansport Police Department remains committed to serving and protecting our community with professionalism and integrity,” said Mayor Chris Martin “We appreciate the dedication of our officers and staff, and we are confident in the leadership of Interim Chief Heishman and Interim Assistant Chief Garrison.”

The city thanks the community for its continued support of the Logansport Police Department.
