Titus Christian Ortiz, 4, of Logansport, Indiana, passed away unexpectedly, Sunday, December 14, 2025, in the emergency room at Parkview-Logansport.

He was born October 23, 2021, in Logansport Memorial Hospital.

His family lovingly called him “Chunky.” He was full of joy and energy, always ready to play and explore. He loved his toys, especially his tablet, and found happiness in the little things-watching a train go by, running around the park, or seeing a firetruck or school bus. His curiosity and laughter made every day brighter, and he brought smiles to everyone who knew him. Titus was a student at the Intermediate Berry Preschool.

He is survived by his parents, Ana Ortiz and Cole Shaver; his maternal grandmother, Emma Coy; paternal grandmother, Noel Shaver; great-grandmother, Alice Johnson; uncles, Remy Ortiz, Bernardo Ortiz, Alexander Ross, Charles Ross, Fred Ross, and Brady Ross; aunts, Thelma Ross, Shauna McNamera, and Gracelynn Shaver; as well as several extended family members.

He was preceded in death by his sister, Alice Ross.

“If love could have saved you, you would have never died.” The love poured out for Chunky was immeasurable, and on that tragic day it was matched by extraordinary efforts. His family, along with the first responders—dispatchers, police officers, firefighters, paramedics, the Parkview‑Logansport ER team, and the coroner’s department—fought with everything they had to save him. They now carry this loss alongside the family, and we lift them in prayer as well. The family wishes to express heartfelt thanks for their courage, compassion, and dedication in the face of heartbreak.

A Memorial Service celebrating Chunky’s life will be held at a later date, following the holidays, at the Harvest Chapel, 1113 Woodlawn Avenue, Logansport.

Arrangements have been entrusted to Fisher Funeral Chapel & Cremation Service. You may share memories, photos and words of comfort to his family at www.fisherfuneralchapel.com.
