Larry D. Isaacs
Larry Dean Isaacs, 73, of Port Charlotte, Florida, passed away unexpectedly on Christmas Day.
Larry was a veteran of the Vietnam War serving from 1972-1975 in finance, 25th Infantry Division Schofield Barracks, O’ahu, Hawaii.
Larry came out of the service to work with his father Dean at Dean’s electric. He then went on to be the electrical foreman at the Logansport State Hospital. Larry’s strong passion for refurbishing antiques led him into the auctioneering profession along side his mentor Doug Davies. Larry and Cathy owned Isaacs Auctions for 20 years. Larry then started Remax Pacesetters as a Real Estate Broker. Larry then purchased Amelio’s and renamed it to Amelio and Ike’s. He loved talking to all of the patrons and also enjoyed yelling at the staff.
Larry then retired to his paradise in sunny Port Charlotte, Florida to be close to his best friend Tom Heckard, where he used his knowledge of antiques and collectibles to buy and sell. Recently, his favorite hobby was collecting guitars, and trying to get his grandson, Myles, to eat a potato sandwich.
Larry was preceded in death by his father, Dean Isaacs, stepfather, Lester Hettinger, brother, Lyle Isaacs, daughter-in-law, Kristel Isaacs, son, Brandon Isaacs, and grandson, Will Cuppy.
Larry is survived by his mother Willene Hettinger, step-mother Melinda Isaacs, his daughter, Shantel (Bill) Cuppy, his son Jacob Isaacs, his brother Steve Isaacs, his sisters Thelma Isaacs, Sharon Isaacs-Collins, Karen Isaacs-Grisamore, grandchildren, Myles (Maddie) Gilsinger, Cassidy Cuppy, Alivia Isaacs, Eli Isaacs, Lauren Cuppy, Decklan Isaacs, great-grandchildren, Grace Gilsinger, and Graham Gilsinger.
