Raymond J. Franko, 75, of Winamac passed away Sunday, January 11, 2026. Born on June, 25, 1950 in Chicago to Raymond W. and Mary C. (Kaminski) Franko.

On June 25, 1989 he married Kathy Schramm, she survives.

Raymond was a Boilermaker for U.S. Steel in Gary, and later served as a Deputy Sheriff for White County.

Raymond loved working outdoors and taking care of their property. He also enjoyed golfing. His favorite pastime was spending time with his family and friends. Raymond was an avid Cubs, Bears and Purdue basketball fan.

He was very involved with the Winamac Area Planning Board, Shriners, Indiana Freemasons, Fraternal Order of Police, and previously drove the Shriner’s van.

Survivors include his wife Kathy; children: Raymond (Katherine) Franko, Rebecca (Nate) Johanningsmeier, Richard (Sarah) Franko, Rachael Franko; grandchildren: Elizabeth, Madeline, Isabelle, Lucas, and Patrick; sister Mary Franko; brother Joseph (Deborah) Franko, and several nieces and nephews.

Raymond is preceded in death by his parents.

Memorial contributions may be made to the VFW Winamac Post 1728.

A Celebration of life and dinner will be held at the VFW Winamac Post 1728, 1066 S. Monticello Street, Winamac, Indiana 46996, on Sunday, January 25, 2026 from 1:00 p.m. – 5:00 p.m.
