Last Updated on February 1, 2026 by Cass County Communication Network
The following was shared by AJ Rozzi, candidate for Cass County Sheriff:
I am a lifelong resident of Cass County. My wife, Kathy (Shrock) Rozzi, and I have been married for 40 years. We raised three children here and are proud grandparents to nine grandchildren. My mother, Helen Rozzi, is 97 years old and still lives independently at home. Cass County has been my home for my entire life, and it is where my family’s roots run deep.
I dedicated 35 years of service to the Logansport Police Department, retiring after a career focused on public safety, leadership, and accountability. Since 2010, I have continued serving our community as a part-time security officer at Ivy Tech Community College in Logansport. I have also worked in security with local businesses and with Cass/Pulaski Community Corrections, including supervising individuals on home detention.
During my career with the Logansport Police Department, I served at every level of the organization – from patrol officer to Chief of Police. I spent many years leading investigations as Chief of Detectives and later as Assistant Chief and Chief of Police. Along the way, I received extensive training in areas such as major crimes, fraud investigations, and departmental leadership. I also served as a firearms instructor and worked closely with state and federal law enforcement agencies, including the Indiana State Police and federal partners.
This experience has prepared me to serve as your next Cass County Sheriff.
As Sheriff, my top priority will always be to serve and protect the citizens of Cass County. I will uphold the laws of the State of Indiana and lead the Sheriff’s Office with transparency, professionalism, and integrity. I believe the Sheriff should be a working leader—present, accessible, and willing to stand alongside deputies and staff in the daily work of keeping our community safe.
I am running for Sheriff because I believe we can strengthen trust between law enforcement and the community. That means clear, consistent policies, open communication, and regular opportunities for residents to be heard through community listening sessions.
Addressing drug activity in Cass County is also critical. As Sheriff, I will evaluate our department’s role in the Cass County Drug Task Force with a focus on disrupting trafficking networks and dealers, while also supporting effective rehabilitation and treatment options during incarceration.
Finally, I believe in investing in our deputies. Strong mentoring and field training programs help develop better officers, build stronger departments, and create safer communities. I am committed to ensuring our new recruits receive the guidance and training they need to succeed. In every leadership role I’ve held – as Chief of Police, supervisor, and business owner – I have focused on fairness, accountability, and choosing the right people for the job. I respectfully ask you to consider experience, integrity, and commitment to this community when you cast your vote.
I am proud of the service I have given to Logansport and Cass County, and I would be honored to continue that service as your next Cass County Sheriff.
