Stand UP Cass County receives city opioid settlement funding to strengthen prevention efforts

Stand UP Cass County is proud to announce it has been awarded additional opioid settlement funding from the City of Logansport to support local substance use prevention efforts and strengthen protective factors for youth and families across Cass County!

This funding will directly support prevention-based initiatives aimed at reducing youth substance use, increasing community awareness, and expanding evidence-based strategies that address the root causes of addiction before it begins.

“We are incredibly grateful to the City of Logansport for believing in Stand UP Cass County and it’s prevention efforts, we literally couldn’t do it with them and our other sponsors” with these resources,” said Nikki Malott. “This investment reflects a commitment to proactive solutions and long-term community wellness. We appreciate the City’s leadership in ensuring opioid settlement dollars are used in a way that supports prevention, education, and healthier futures.”

Stand UP Cass County works in collaboration with schools, youth-serving organizations, local businesses, law enforcement, treatment providers, and community partners to implement prevention strategies that reduce risk factors and increase protective factors for young people. This funding will help expand programming, strengthen partnerships, and increase outreach to individuals and families who may be impacted by substance use.

Opioid settlement funds are meant to help communities respond to the lasting impacts of the opioid crisis. Stand UP Cass County recognizes the importance of using these funds responsibly and transparently, ensuring that prevention and early intervention remain a priority.

“We know that prevention is one of the most cost-effective and life-saving investments a community can make,” said Nikki. “These funds will allow us to further our mission of creating a healthier Cass County where youth feel supported, connected, and empowered to make positive choices.”

Stand UP Cass County looks forward to continuing its work alongside the City of Logansport and community stakeholders to create long-term change and reduce the impact of substance use in Cass County.
