Edward E. McKaig Jr., age 78, of Logansport, Indiana, peacefully passed away on Wednesday, February 4, 2026, at his residence.

Ed was born on July 26, 1947, in Logansport, Indiana, to Edward E. McKaig Sr. and Betty J. (Martin) McKaig. He was united in marriage on August 19, 1972, in Logansport to Janice Marie King, who survives.

Ed received a Bachelor’s degree in Agriculture from Purdue University in 1969.

He then was drafted and served in the US Army during the Vietnam War. After service, he returned home to the family dairy and farming operation.

Ed is survived by his loving wife, Janice McKaig; one daughter, Christy (Julio) Mora; two sons, Matthew (Michelle) McKaig; Mark (Tanya) McKaig; one sister, Maureen (Ron) Cook; two brothers, Roger (Linda) McKaig; Robert (Sandra) McKaig; seven grandchildren, Caleb McKaig, Rebekah McKaig, Elizabeth McKaig, Zechariah McKaig, Felicia McKaig, Faith McKaig and Alexander Mora; numerous nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews.

Ed was preceded in death by on sister, Patricia Collins.

A visitation will be held at Webb Chapel Church from 2-6 pm on Sunday February 15, 2026, and from 9:00 am until time of services at the church on Monday February 16, 2026

A celebration of life will be held at 10:00 am on Monday February 16, 2026, at the Webb Chapel Church with Pastor Marv Grandstaff & Pastor Tim McKaig officiating. Burial with full military honors will follow at the Shiloh Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Gideon’s International or Webb Chapel Church.
