Kathryn “Kathy” Ackerman, 89 of Grass Creek passed away peacefully at 3:42 a.m., Friday, February 13, 2026 at Woodbridge Health Campus in Logansport.

Born on February 25, 1936 in Winamac, she was the daughter of the late George and Gertrude (Kersey) Brown.

She was a 1954 Winamac High School graduate.

On May 13, 1967 she married Leamon “Lum” Ackerman. He preceded her in death on January 12, 2015.

Kathy was formerly employed at Moore’s Business Forms in Rochester for over 20 years. After her retirement she worked at Nickels Bakery in Rochester.

Kathy enjoyed playing cards, traveling, quilting and bowling.

Survivors include her children, Andrew Curtis (Deb), Michael Curtis (Linda), Robert Zimmerman, Karen Sue LeVeque (Jim) and Audry Gard, and son-in-law, Kenneth McClure. She is also survived by numerous grandchildren, great grandchildren and great great grandchildren.

She was also preceded in death by her daughter, Debra McClure, son, Randall Curtis, brother, Ivan Brown, sister, Delores Lugenbeal, son-in-law, Fred Gard and daughter-in-law, Anita Zimmerman.

Services will be at 1:30 p.m., Wednesday, February 18, 2026 at Rans Funeral Homes & Crematory, Metzger Chapel, 123 E. Main St., Kewanna.

Visitation will be from 11:30 a.m. until the time of the service.

Burial will be at Grass Creek Cemetery.
