Patricia Lou Swanson, 73, of Walton, Indiana, passed away Friday, April 3, 2026, in Woodbridge Health Campus.

Born June 21, 1952, in Logansport, she was the daughter of the late Cecil and Dorothy (Dumm) Kingery.

On September 5, 1970, she was married to James Arnold “Jim” Swanson, Jr. He preceded her in death December 30, 2021.

Pat had attended Webb Chapel United Methodist Church in her earlier years and later became a member of Onward Christian Church, just a short distance from her home. She firmly believed that neighbors became family, and she took joy in watching for them to drive by, always keeping an eye on the wildlife that made their home along the creek behind her house. Affectionately known as the president of “The Pipe Creek Valley Association,” Pat was a wealth of local knowledge and community history. She loved to crochet, and her homemade cooking was a true gift of love to her family and friends.

She is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, James “Jim” and Lana Swanson, Peru (Lewisburg); her sister, Marla Sellers, Logansport; her precious granddaughters, Jacquelyn Swanson, and Lilly Missler and her husband, Jack; and her niece, Angie Sellers.

In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by her brothers-in-law, Billy Sellers and Charles Swanson, and sisters-in-law, Judy Thompson and Louise Lidy.

A funeral service celebrating Patricia’s life will be held 4 p.m. Wednesday, April 8, at the Onward Christian Church with Pastor Dale Holzbauer officiating.

Visitation will be held prior to the service from 2-4 p.m.

Interment will follow in the Little Deer Creek Cemetery, Onward, Indiana.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Onward Christian Church.
