John H. Crow Jr., 69, of Kokomo, passed away peacefully on Friday, June 12, 2026, at Ascension St. Vincent Hospital in Kokomo following an extended illness. He was born on October 11, 1956, in Kokomo to John H. Crow Sr. and Anna Fay (Andrews) Crow.
John retired from Indiana American Water after more than 30 years of dedicated service. John had a deep love for the outdoors and rarely missed an opportunity to be in the woods deer hunting, turkey hunting, or on the water fishing. Some of his happiest moments were spent enjoying nature and sharing those experiences with family and friends. He also enjoyed playing billiards, dancing West Coast Swing, cutting and delivering firewood to local campgrounds, and, most of all, socializing with the many friends he made throughout his life.
Of all his accomplishments, John was most proud of being a father and grandfather. His love for his daughter was evident in everything he did, including naming his business, Lexi’s Drink Barn, in her honor. He took great pride in watching his family grow and cherished every moment spent with his granddaughters, Magnolia and Piper.
John is lovingly remembered by his daughter, Lexi (Jarrett) Benton of Marion; his cherished granddaughters, Magnolia and Piper; his mother, Anna Fay Crow and her companion, Terry Biddle; his sisters, Cindy (Steve) Kistler of Noblesville and Christina (Jerry) Dicken of Kokomo; as well as many beloved cousins in Missouri and Arkansas.
He was preceded in death by his father, John H. Crow Sr.
John also leaves behind his loyal four-legged companion, Buster, who was his constant friend and faithful pal.
John will be remembered for his love of family, his generous spirit, his appreciation for the outdoors, and the countless friendships he treasured throughout his life. His memory will live on in the hearts of all who knew and loved him.
Visitation will be held Tuesday, June 16th from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. at Murray Weaver Funeral Home in Galveston with services following at 1:00 p.m. His brother-in-law, Dr. Steve Kistler will officiate services. Burial will follow in Galveston Cemetery. Murray Weaver Funeral Home is honored to serve the Crow family. www.murrayweaverfuneralhome.com
