
Deloris “Kitty” Jackson

Kitty Jackson, 93, of Logansport, Indiana passed away peacefully on August 4, 2026 at Cedar Creek Assisted Living Facility. Kitty was born at home on September 29,1932 in Logansport, Indiana to the late Clyde T. and Retha P. (Yike) Higgins.
She was a 1951 graduate of Logansport High School. On January 21, 1953, she married the love of her life, James R. Jackson. Together they shared 60 years happily married until the untimely passing of James in 2013.
Kitty was a devoted wife and beloved mother of three, that love transcended to her grandchildren and great grandchildren. Taking care of her family brought her, her greatest joy.
When James returned home from Korea, they had the great fortune of becoming neighbors to the Knight Family. With that move, blossomed a deep friendship between Judi and Kitty that created a bond that lasted a lifetime.
Kitty was a loyal friend with a witty sense of humor. She enjoyed playing the piano and knitting. She was a compassionate nurturer by nature. True to her calling, she opened her home and heart to care for children. Eventually, spending 20 years providing guidance and counseling to teens and young adults at the Youth Service Bureau.
Kitty was the heart of her family, encouraging their goals and dreams in life. If you asked her, she would say, “They’re nearly perfect”. She left an abundance of love and everlasting memories. She led a life well lived.
Surviving are her children: Gwen Jackson (Ft. Wayne), Cindy (Jim) Woodworth (Indianapolis), and Clay (Tracy) Jackson (Logansport). Seven grandchildren: Sarah Caskey (Ft. Wayne), Jennifer Jackson (Ft. Wayne), Brandon Jackson (Kansas), Adam (Genia) Jackson (Columbus, OH), Cole (Abby) Jackson (Logansport), Zach (Shelby) Jackson (Fishers), and Luke Jackson (New York City). Nine great grandchildren: Jasmine and Ethan Caskey (Ft. Wayne), Connor Jackson (Ft. Wayne), Evelyn and Everett Jackson (Columbus, OH), Cameron Jackson (Logansport), Noah, Stella and Clara Jackson (Fishers).
Kitty was preceded in death by her husband, parents, sister, Frances (Higgins) Thompson, Son-in-law, Jim Jackson and great grandson, Greyson Scott Jackson.
Visitation will be Tuesday, August 11, 2026 from 2:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. followed by the funeral service with Mike Montgomery officiating. Interment will follow the service at Saint John’s Cemetery.
