About Us:
Cass County Humane Society doing business as Pets R Us is a dedicated nonprofit organization committed to promoting the welfare of animals in our community. Through our rescue efforts, advocacy initiatives, and educational programs, we strive to create a compassionate and sustainable environment for our community’s cats and dogs.
Salary Range: $22 to $28/hour
Expected Weekly Hours of Work: 20 to 30 hours per week
Position Overview:
We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Executive Director to lead our organization in fulfilling its mission of animal care and rescue. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in nonprofit management, board governance, volunteer coordination, community outreach, fundraising, and facility/staff oversight. Above all, we are looking for someone who shares our passion for animal welfare and embodies the values of love and compassion in all aspects of their work.
Responsibilities:
Provide strategic leadership and direction to ensure the effective operation and growth of the organization.
Oversee all aspects of nonprofit management, including budgeting, financial planning, and regulatory compliance.
Work closely with board committees to develop and implement policies, programs, and initiatives that align with the organization’s mission and goals.
Lead and inspire a team of dedicated staff and volunteers, fostering a positive and inclusive work environment.
Develop and maintain strong relationships with donors, sponsors, partners, and community stakeholders to support fundraising efforts and expand our outreach.
Plan and execute creative fundraising campaigns, events, and grant writing initiatives to secure funding for our programs and services.
Coordinate community outreach and education programs to raise awareness about animal welfare issues and promote responsible pet ownership.
Oversee the operation and maintenance of our facility, ensuring the highest standards of care and safety for the animals in our care.
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in nonprofit management, business administration, or related field
Proven success in nonprofit management
Demonstrated success in working with board committees, volunteers, and community stakeholders to achieve organizational goals.
Strong fundraising and grant writing skills, with a track record of securing financial support for nonprofit organizations.
Experience in facility or staff oversight, preferably in an animal welfare or rescue environment.
Excellent communication, interpersonal, and leadership skills, with the ability to inspire and motivate others.
Passion for animal care and rescue, with a deep commitment to the humane treatment of all animals.
