POSITION:

The Development Manager will serve as the manager of fundraising and board development in the assigned counties of Jasper, Newton, Carroll, Cass, Pulaski and White counties. This is a 40 hour per week position and will report to the Development Director of the West Business Unit and partner with area Program Managers. This is a hybrid position which is remote as well as in the Lafayette, IN office. Travel during the day in listed counties required and some nights/weekends.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:  Development & Event Management

o  Lead and inspire the 7 local advisory boards to build and sustain the growing funding model to support the operational needs in the community and overall short-term and long-term organizational goals.

o  Make fundraising requests in partnership with the board and committees to raise the revenue goals needed for the local operating budget. Manage all major donor and partner relationships and cultivate network.

o  Maintain, develop & build the board of directors and needed committees with expectations. Recruit a diverse and qualified board and committees that represents a variety of industry in the county.

o  Prepare required reporting information and statement of activities for board and committee meetings.

o  Oversee event budgets and logistics with the support of the board and committees.

o  Manage the annual campaign and partnership campaign goals and requests with current donors and research and identify new corporate, foundation, and individual opportunities.

o  Use the provided marketing tools for fundraising requests, event sponsorship and participation, and social media.

o  Write and manage grants and provide the follow up report back information required.

o  Implement a cultivation and stewardship strategy with donors.

o  Manage the statement of activities, event budgets, partnership and annual campaigns, and fundraising ask plans in the Development Report and update weekly.

o  Partner with program team on identifying growth opportunities and community awareness and involvement.

o  Other duties as assigned; infrequently including some early mornings, weeknights, and weekends and other regional event participation in the West Business Unit.

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE:

o  B.A. or B.S. preferred or prior sales experience preferred.

o  Proven ability to effectively work under tight deadlines, self-starter and can manage work independently.

o  Ability to prioritize multiple tasks in a face-paced, changing environment.
