Merit Deputy

The Cass County Sheriff’s Office is currently accepting applications for the position of merit deputy. The application process is open through 4 p.m. on February 21, 2024. written and physical agility testing will take place on Feb. 24, 2024 at Pioneer High School in Royal Center, IN. An application for the position can be found online at www.co.cass.in.us/resources/employment or at the Cass County Sheriff’s Office located at 100 Court Park in Logansport, IN.

Cass County offers an excellent benefits package with a competitive salary starting at $60,990. Deputies have a take-home car with off-duty use, a vested pension after eight years of service and access to the Cass County Employer Clinic.

The application process may include a background investigation, polygraph, written aptitude test, physical agility testing and an interview with the Sheriff’s Office Merit Board. Applicants must meet the following criteria:

US Citizen
21 years of age when appointed
Possess a high school diploma or equivalency
Possess a valid Indiana driver’s license
Corrected vision of at least 20/30 in each eye

Successful applicants may be required to attend the Indiana Law Enforcement Academy and complete a one-year probationary period.
