Merit Deputy

The Cass County Sheriff’s Office is currently accepting applications for the position of merit deputy. The application process is open through 12:00 PM on July 9, 2026. Written and physical agility testing will take place on July 11, 2026. An application for the position can be found online at http://www.co.cass.in.us/resources/employment or at the Cass County Sheriff’s Office at 100 Court Park in Logansport, IN.

The application process may include a background investigation, a polygraph, a written aptitude test, physical agility testing, and an interview with the Sheriff’s Office Merit Board. Applicants must meet the following criteria: United States citizen.

        21 years of age when appointed
        Possess a high school diploma or equivalent
        Possess a valid Indiana Driver’s License
        Corrected vision of at least 20/30 in each eye.

Successful applicants may be required to attend the Indiana Law Enforcement Academy and will complete a one-year probationary period.
