Church Musician – Piano, Organ or Keyboard

Job Title : Musician – Organist/ Pianist. (Available Immediately)

Location : Trinity Lutheran Church, 97 E. Market Street, Logansport, IN 46947.  A member of Lutheran Congregations in Mission with Christ.

Purpose: This part-time position has shared responsibility, in coordination with Pastor, staff, and members, to develop a dynamic and blended music ministry within the broad guidelines for Lutheran Word and Sacrament worship.

Salary: $7,500.00 per year paid monthly; set annually by the Church Council.

Education Requirements: Appropriate training and experience in music and organ/piano/instrumental in Christian worship settings.

Duties:

Provide musical accompaniment during our worship services that creates an atmosphere of praise and thanksgiving. Specifically, 10:00am Sunday morning worship and seasonal services during the year (such as Ash Wednesday, Holy Week, and Christmas Eve).
Facilitate creative planning, participation, and song selection with the Music Team to make our worship EPIC – Experiential, Participatory, Inviting, and Communal.
If available, other duties may include: music at funerals, weddings, special community events. (all offer additional compensation)
Hours and Time-Off: Flexible schedule during the weekdays for practice and office hours. This position is allotted Four Sundays off each year (coordinate with Pastor).  They can recruit and select substitute musician(s) during planned absences.

Work Hours and Location: Trinity Lutheran Church has a well-maintained pipe organ with chimes, electronic keyboard, upright piano, fully furnished office; and access to computer, copier, and music resources.  Trinity subscribes to on-line worship planning resources that follow the Revised Common Lectionary.
