John T. “Jack” Gill

John T. “Jack” Gill, age 90, formerly of Logansport, passed away at 4:45 a.m. on Sunday, August 16, 2015, at Spring Mill Meadows health care, Indianapolis.
Born July 8, 1925, in Peru, he was the son of Faye and Felicitas Birner Gill.
On May 8, 1982, Jack was married to Joann Carter, who preceded in death on June 29, 2004.
He retired in 1984 as a locomotive engineer for Conrail.
Jack was a US Army veteran of World War II. He had been a member of the Walton American Legion, Logansport VFW and Logansport Elks.
He was a member of All Saints Catholic Church, Logansport, and attended St. Monica’s Church in Indianapolis. Jack was a member of the Knights of Columbus and Fourth Degree Knights of Columbus.
Surviving are his children, Stephen (Sharon) Gill, Peru, Elizabeth “Beth” (Bob) Bracy, Rogers, AR and Thomas A. (Jackie) Gill, Indianapolis.
Also surviving are grandchildren, Stephen M. II (Keisa) Gill, Shawn J. A. (Melinda) Gill, Shara C. E. Alvarado, Shealey M. (Tony) Pena, Stephanie R. (Brian) Lanter, R. Michael Bracy, Patricia M. (Michael) Price, Amy K. (Jeff) Codaillo, Jordan T. Gill; twenty seven great grandchildren, several nieces and nephews.
A granddaughter, Schantell M. Gill, preceded in death.
Visitation will be from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. on Thursday, August 20, 2015, at Kroeger Funeral Home, where a Scripture Service will be conducted at 7:30 p.m. The Fourth Degree Knights of Columbus will stand guard during that time.
The Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11:00 a.m. on Friday at All Saints Catholic Church, with Father Dominic Petan officiating.
Burial with full military honors will be in the Mount Calvary section of Mount Hope Cemetery.
