Jeannette L. (Lu) Rohde

Jeanette L. (Lu) Rohde, age 76, South Bend, formerly of Logansport, passed away at 2:53 p.m. on Friday, September 11, 2015, at IU Methodist Hospital, Indianapolis, surrounded by her loving family. She left her earthly bonds to be united with her soulmate, partner and husband, Bruce Rohde, who preceded her in death on February 9, 2007.

Born April 14, 1939, in South Bend, she was the daughter of Trevor and Hazel Hyatt Jones.

Lu loved spending time with her family, loving and treating them all equally. Her mother’s love was that each and every one was uniquely special to her. She loved baking Christmas cookies for all the kids.

Surviving are sons, Randy (Dorinda) Rohde, Douglas (Barbara) Rohde; daughters, Connie (William) Somers, Diana (Chris) Hizer, all of Logansport; two sisters, Beverly Frushour and Delores Young, all of South Bend.

Also surviving are grandchildren, Jason, Misty, Steven, Kenneth, Douglas, Jennifer and Kayla, thirteen great grandchildren and a number of nieces and nephews.

A grandson, Jeremy Rohde, one brother and three sisters preceded her in death.

Visitation will be at Kroeger Funeral Home on Tuesday, September 15, from 4:00 to 8:00 p.m. and on Wednesday from 10:00 to 11:00 a.m., prior to the service.

The funeral service will be at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday.

Burial will be in Mount Hope Cemetery.
