Wanda E. Pitman

Wanda E. Pitman, 91, of Logansport, passed away at 9:15 a.m. Tuesday, Nov. 10, 2015.
Born October 26, 1924, in Logansport, she was the daughter of the late Francis B. and Emma Heronemus Pitman.
Wanda attended Logansport High School and really appreciated her Class of ’42 for picking her up and taking her to reunions while she was a resident at Miller’s Merry Manor. She was retired from RBM/Essex Wire where she had made many friends over the years.
A longtime member of Trinity Lutheran Church, Wanda was active in the Women’s group. She was a former member of the Alpha Mu Chapter of Tri Kappa and the Mary Dykeman Guild.
Surviving are two nieces, Ann (Jerry) Phillips and Debbie (Dick) Farrer, all of Logansport; four nephews, Jim (Beverly) Humes of Noblesville, Dr. Richard Smith of Colorado, Bob (Judy) Pitman of Columbus, IN, and Ted (Margo) Pitman of Logansport; three cousins, Marian Groves and Sue (Dale)Hight all of Kokomo and Walter Hansen of Frankfort; several great-nieces and great-nephews; and the loving staff of Miller’s Merry Manor and the many residents there that she considered to be like family.
She was preceded in death by two sisters Mary Jane (Richard)Smith and Wilma E. (James) Humes; two brothers Richard P. “Bud” (Eva)Pitman and Robert F. Pitman who died on the USS Indianapolis; and two nephews, Terry Smith and John Smith.
A memorial service celebrating the life of Wanda Pitman will be held at 2 p.m. Monday, Nov. 16th in Fisher Funeral Chapel. Pastor Larry DeVos will be officiating.
Internment will follow at Mount Hope Cemetery.
