Charles “Mike” Campbell

Charles “Mike” Campbell, 82, of Monticello passed away Thursday, February 18, 2016 at IU Health White Memorial Hospital in Monticello.

Born on October 5, 1933 in Logansport, he was the son of the late Charles Richard and Jeannette M. (Fickle) Campbell.  On October 23, 1959 in Logansport he married Margaret Ellen Silver who survives.

Mike was a 1952 graduate of Burnettsville High School. After graduation he joined the Army National Guard and in 1953 transferred to the United States Air Force until 1957 when he returned to the Indiana National Guard, retiring in 1974. Mike served during the Korean Conflict and was stationed in Africa. He retired in 1996 from Chrysler where he worked for 30 years. Mike was a member of the Walton American Legion Post# 418.

Surviving along with his wife Margaret are two daughters, Cheryl (Mike) Floyd, Atlanta, IN; Rebecca (Kevin) Voigt, Shamong, NJ; son, Jeff (Cindy) Campbell, Reynold, IN; two brothers, John Emerson (Margaret) Campbell, Logansport; Thomas Wayne (Rhonda) Campbell, Westville, IN; 14 grandchildren and 18 great grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by a son, Alan Williams and a grandson, Jacob Voigt.

A celebration of life will be held at 11:00 AM Monday, February 22, 2016 in the Gundrum Funeral Home with Pastor Bill Collins officiating. Burial with full Military Rites will be held in the Walton I.O.O.F. Cemetery in Walton, IN.

Visitation will be held on from 1:00 – 3:00 PM Sunday, February 21, 2016 in the Gundrum Funeral Home.

Memorials may be made to the Cass County Cancer Society.
