Marjorie Gibbs

gibbsMarjorie Gibbs, 72, of Royal Center, passed away Monday, Feb. 15, 2016, in her home surrounded by her family following a courageous battle with lung cancer.

Born August 2, 1943, in Logansport, she was the daughter of the late Glenn DeWitt and Dorothy (Poff) Toothman.

On Sept. 18, 1960, in the 17th St. Church of the Brethren in Logansport, she married Richard Gibbs, who survives.

For 17 years, she worked for Essex Wire/White-Rodgers.  Following that, she worked for ten years in the toy department at Walmart.

She was a member of the Baptist Church and the Ladies Auxiliary of the Veterans of Foreign War Post 3790.

Surviving with her husband are three children: Rickey (Lisa) Gibbs of Logansport, Lisa Kathrens of Finley, Ohio, and Randy (Rebecca) Gibbs of Haleyville, Alabama; three sisters, Jane Shows of Florida, Cheryl Robinson of Louisiana and Patty (John) Campbell of Kokomo; ten grandchildren and several great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by one grandson, Paul William Gibbs.

A private viewing will be held prior to cremation to honor Marjorie’s wishes.  Burial will be in Lucerne Cemetery.

Memorial contributions may be made to St. Jude Children’s Hospital.
