Carol Sue Russell, 79, Peru, formerly of Logansport passed away Sunday, May 29, 2016 at Woodbridge Health Campus in Logansport.
Born on October 21, 1936 in Cass County, Indiana she was the daughter of the late Ned O. and Helen Berneice (Moyer) Sherman. On September 26, 1954 in the Miami Baptist Church she married LeRoy W. Russell who preceded her in death on November 2, 2012.
Carol was a homemaker. She was a member of the Miami Baptist Church and a member of the American Baptist Women. Carol taught Sunday School and was a member of the Church choir.
Surviving her is a son, Tim (Terri) Russell; two daughters, Debra (Scott) Swartz; Karen (Tim) Buffum, all of Logansport; grandchildren, Jonathan (Christy) Russell, Royal Center; Shanan (Bryan) Pletka, Logansport; Jared (Lauren) Russell, Lake Cicott, IN; Tommy (Cyndi) Buffum, Logansport; Laura (Zach) Deitrich, Clymers; Travis Buffum, Tacoma, WA; seventeen great grandchildren; two brothers, Hyland (Milly) Sherman, Logansport; Gale (Ruth Anne) Sherman, Crawford, MS; two sisters, Linda (Bill) Grauel, Tennessee; Pam (Frankie) Tomlinson, Crawford,MS; several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her step mother, Evalyn Sherman.
A celebration of life will be held at 11:00 AM Thursday, June 2, 2016 in the Gundrum Funeral Home with Pastor Daisok Panmei officiating. Burial will follow in the Miami Baptist Cemetery.
Visitation will be held from 4:00 – 7:00 PM on Wednesday, June 1, 2016 also in the funeral home.
Memorials may be made to the Miami Baptist Church Building Fund or the Gideons.
