Mary Jane Welker, 66, of Burnettsville, passed away at 5:35 a.m. Sunday, May 22, 2016, in her home.
Born April 16, 1950, in Logansport, she was the daughter of the late Wilbur and Mary Alabaugh Wilson.
On April 12, 1970, in Flora, she was married to Norman Welker. He preceded her in death February 20, 2016.
Mary Jane was a 1968 graduate of Carroll County High School. In 1991, she retired from Federal Mogul. She had previously worked for RCA in Monticello.
She was a member of the Flora Christian Church. Mary Jane enjoyed gardening and canning. In earlier years, she kept busy with sewing, painting and arts and crafts of all kinds.
Surviving are two sons, Brian Welker of Burnettsville and Shawn and Amber Welker, of Royal Center; one brother and sister-in-law Keith and Phyllis Wilson of Rossville; one sister Jane Wilson & friend Becky King of Flora and five grandchildren, Dustin, Colton, Isabelle and Nathaniel Welker and Haley Gleitz.
A funeral service celebrating the life of Mary Jane Welker will be held at 10 a.m. Thursday, May 26 at Fisher Funeral Chapel with Rev. Scott Ellison officiating.
Burial will follow in Davis Cemetery.
A visitation will be held from 4-8 p.m. Wednesday, May 25, in the funeral chapel.
