Virginia J. Quade

quadeVirginia J. Quade, 83, of Jasper, formerly of Logansport, passed away Monday, May 16, 2016, in the Jasper Memorial Hospital.

Born April 30, 1933, in Monticello, she was the daughter of the late Elbert V. and Hazel K. (Morgan) Hare.

On November 23, 1952, in the St. James Lutheran Church in Reynolds, she was married to Robert L. Quade. He preceded her in death on July 28, 1995.

For twenty-seven years, Virginia was employed as a secretary with the Lousiville Cement Company, Logansport.

Virginia was a longtime member of the St. James Lutheran Church in Logansport. She was also a member of the Veterans of Foreign War Auxiliary. Virginia belonged to the Doll Club, the Ornament Club and the Cass County Extension Homemakers. She loved visiting Minnesota. Her greatest joy in life was her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

She is survived by one son and daughter-in-law, Larry and Debra Quade, of Jasper; two grandchildren, Robert Quade and Jamie Quade; and two great-grandchildren Kensington and Ruthie.

She was also preceded in death by one daughter, Diane Quade; one brother, Gordon Hare; and her twin sister, Barbara Murray.

A funeral service celebrating the life of Virginia Quade will be held at 10:30 a.m. Friday, May 20 in St. James Lutheran Church. Pastor K.C. Dehning will officiate at the service.

Burial will follow in the St. James Lutheran Cemetery in Reynolds.

 

Visitation hours will be held from 4 to 7 p.m. Thursday, May 19, in Fisher Funeral Chapel and one hour prior to the service at the church.
