Dorothy Ann “Dottie” Goss

gossDorothy Ann “Dottie” Goss, 78 of Stillwater, OK, formerly of Fulton, IN, passed away Tuesday, June 21, 2016 in her residence.

Born on September 21, 1937 in Fulton County, Indiana, she was the daughter of the late Herschel and Helen (Messinger) Goss. Dottie was raised on a farm northwest of Fulton and graduated from Fulton High School in 1955 as the Salutatorian of her class.

She then received her Bachelors Degree from Purdue University and a Masters Degree from the University of Illinois. Before returning to the University of Illinois as a Professor she obtained her PhD from Cornell University.

Dottie served as a Professor at the University of Illinois, University of Minnesota, and retired from Oklahoma State University where she had received many honors for her dedication and work there.

She enjoyed traveling, attending basketball games, craft shows and spending time with family and friends.

Surviving Dottie is her sister, Barbara (Granville) Hattery, Rochester; nephews, Brian (Tara) Morrill, Logansport; Gary (Beth) Williams, Rochester; nieces, Beth (Wendell) Burton, Rochester; Carla (Rich) Cesarski, Cary, NC; great nieces and nephews, Amanda (Steve) Metzger; Nicole (Vance) Monical; Ryan Williams, Ryley Williams; Ashlynn Morrill; Allison (Caleb) Comoglio; Kent Burton; Taylor Cesarski; great great nieces and nephews, Troy Metzger; Mason Metzger; Max Metzger; Ella Monical; Jack Monical and Paisley Williams.

She was preceded in death by her parents, one sister, Louise L. Morrill, and a brother in law, Mark Williams.

A graveside service will be held at 10:30 AM Friday, June 24, 2016 in the I.O.O.F Cemetery in Rochester, Indiana with the Rev. George Hapner officiating.
