Sept. 15, 2016 is deadline for service academy nomination requests

Danville, IN – Rep. Todd Rokita would like to remind service academy nomination applicants that Thursday, September 15, 2016 is the deadline to request a nomination from his office.
“It is a great privilege to be able to nominate some of our most outstanding young leaders to our nation’s service academies. My staff and I want to be as helpful as possible in this process, and I encourage interested applicants to contact my office with any questions.”
Each applicant for a nomination must meet the following eligibility requirements as of July 1st of the year of admission to an academy:
- Age: Must be at least 17 years old, but not have passed the 23rd birthday
- Citizenship: Must be a U.S. citizen
- Marital Status: Must be unmarried, not pregnant, and without legal obligation to support children or other dependents
- Residence: Must reside within boundaries of the 4th Congressional District of Indiana
Applicants are required to submit a signed application form (available here), the extra-curricular activities worksheet, the nomination questionnaire, American College Testing Program (ACT) results and/or College Board Scholastic Assessment Test (SAT) results, an official high school transcript, a current photograph, and three letters or recommendation.
