Logansport’s Hometown Collaboration Initiative (HCI) team will hold a Community Forum on Tuesday, Jan. 24, 2017 from 6-9 p.m. in the Logansport High School cafeteria. Registration will begin at 5:30 p.m.

“The forum provides an opportunity for community members to share their ideas for making Logansport even better,” says Logansport HCI coach Tamara Ogle, of Purdue University.  “Participants will have the opportunity to look at the survey results as well as data from the community and then give input on Logansport’s economy, leadership, and quality of life through fast-paced, small group discussions.”

During the past two months, the HCI team has worked on identifying the community’s assets and also on promoting a community survey.

The previous record for survey responses, held by Auburn, Ind. was 1,157. Logansport set a new record with 1,994 responses.

“The HCI team will take the information from the forum, as well as survey results and data to make a decision on a building block: leadership, economy or placemaking,” Ogle says. “The team will continue to use this feedback as they choose a focus area within the building block and ultimately a community project.”

During the forum, Logansport will also implement another first for the HCI program: two sessions will run simultaneously, one in English and one in Spanish.

Refreshments will be provided by the Cass County Community Foundation.

Those who wish to attend the HCI Community Forum should RSVP online at or call (574) 753-8316 by Friday, Jan. 20.
