In November 2019, voters will choose Logansport’s mayor, clerk-treasurer and city council for the next four years.

At a reception December 18 at Boondockers, Logansport Mayor Dave Kitchell announced that he plans to seek a second term.

Two current members of the Logansport City Council also announced their plans to seek re-election: Amy Densborn in Ward 3 and Matt Meagher for one of two at-large seats. Carl McPherson will run for city council in Ward 5, and a political newcomer, Jake LeDonne will also run for one of two at-large seats on the council.

Kitchell revealed last night that the names of supermarkets that will fill the former Marsh stores on North Third Street and 14th Street will be Gothra’s Neighborhood Markets.

He also said that a Chicago area developer has signed a letter of intent to acquire the Logansport Mall for a residential and retail development. The mayor says the buyer is currently in the due diligence phase and the city hopes to announce his plans for the property early next year.

Candidates may file their declaration of candidacy for the 2019 municipal primary between January 9 and noon on February 8.
